Boar Very true, we tried to load a boar that was probably 300+lbs and did not want to go. It was an experience to say the least. The owner had really messed with him the day before and hit him with the prod bunch of times, so nice and easy wasnt going to work.

RUM I kicked around a 257/6.5 rum and ended up buying a 300 rum as the donor rifle and liked it enough i never switched. Im not happy with the brass though, if i didnt have $200 in dies and another $150 in brass i would gladly switch to a 300-338 Lapua.

barrel I just put my sporter barreled savage 300 rum into a choate varmint stock and it has a 1.25" barrel channel. It looks really weird, but totally functional. I will be adding a fleece camo barrel sleeve and one for the scope to camo it up and that should even it out quite a bit.
