Whats a good gun for coyotes??

Hi Andrew, I'm from southern Manitoba and was in the same position. I kept my Browning A-bolt 270 for deer etc and bought a cheap Stevens model 200 in 223 for coyotes. I did a little work on the Stevens like lightening the trigger and stiffening the stock (no real cost to this if you search...

    Chronograph needed for reloading?

+1 for the prochrono. I've used it for a number load developments and it's been quite accurate. I reloaded for a while without one. But now that I have one I wouldn't go back. It helped me catch a pressure issue between Remington and Winchester brass in my 223 as the Winchester speeds were...

    Looking for a good rangefinder.

Another vote for the Nikon 1200. I've ranged deer between 600 to 700 yards. I like it better than my Dads Leica 900 and he likes my Nikon better too. Good luck.

    Experience with Barnes match burner

Has anyone had experience with the Barnes match burner line of bullets. Looking at the 69 gr .224 bullets and just wondering how their quality control and tolerances are compared to the sierra matchking and/or bergers. Have they shot consistently in your gun? I realize every barrel is different...

    Nikon or Bushnell? Help!

I have the Nikon 1200, and my dad has a leica 900 I believe. I actually prefer my Nikon to his for the reticule and options like illumination. I also find that the Nikon calc's the range faster. I have ranged deer to about 650 yards and buildings to about 1400 yards. Great glass on the Nikon...

Turrets on Elite 3200 4-12x40 AO

It has the multiplex ret. So does it have hash marks as well to tell you how many rotations you've gone up?

Turrets on Elite 3200 4-12x40 AO

Thinking about buying a Elite 3200 4-12x40 AO scope. Do you know if you can dial for elevation and windage with these scopes. The description says that they have finger adjustable/resettable turrets, but in the picture they look really low profile to have this ability. Looking to get out to...

    I know, I know

I shoot 270 with 130 SST's at 3100 fps and am good out to about 600-650 yards (no experience yet with game taken at this range, but I'd be fairly confident on our Canadian sized deer). If you loaded up some 150 berger bullets to 2950 ftps (should be able to come close to that, depending on...

    270 coyote bullet choices

Looking to load up some coyote loads for my 270. Saving pelts is a consideration, but it might be difficult with this caliber. Please give bullet choices. Do you go fast and light and try to have no exit, or just punch through with a tougher round? Shot one last year with 130 gr soft point in...

Thank you and next reloading steps

I've been weight sorting mine, and almost all fall into two groups: 130.4 gns and 130.5. If you got too much weight variance, perhaps Hornady would replace them. I've finished reloading another test group between 58.6 gns and 59.4 gns. I'll shoot them as soon as I can.

Thank you and next reloading steps

Absolutely, I was actually thinking of redoing the whole procedure to see if I would reproduce the results. I might yet. But shoot I will. The bug has bitten again.
