2005 Antelope / Mule Deer Hunt

Chris, I didn't realize you just got home. No wander you sounded tired on the phone. I hope I didn't wake you up when I called! Ric, you need to stop writing stories like this and the one about the "bow-kill elk stollen by a grizzly, and we almost died". Why? because you make me have crazy...

    Big Bummer In Phoenix, AZ

Roy, I appreciate your kindness. The value in my years of sacrifice is known when I realize I fight for people/friends/Americans like you. I am in a bit of a dilema. My heart seems to have been born for either Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, or Montana (having never yet hunted there, mind you), but...

    Big Bummer In Phoenix, AZ

Well, they shut down our shooting range. I am stationed here at Luke air force base in Phoenix (City life = death), and one of the only little pleasures for a country boy just got took away. I used to shoot at Peoria Rod and Gun club, but it is closed indefinitely for "safety" (i.e...

    Sako Finnlight freebore ??

I have a SAKO FINNLIGHT 300 WSM. I have to seat 180 partitions at least .175 to just barely clear the magazine (yes, one-hundred-seventy-five-thousandths). The recoil then also mashes the nose of the other bullets in the clip when you fire one off. The accuracy is very bad, still researching...

Trigger for Win M70 Stealth II

Charles, do you have experience with ROBAR? Sounds like a top notch company.

Trigger for Win M70 Stealth II

I pain-stakingly scraped the epoxy off the trigger threads and adjusted it so that it's MUCH better than it was from the factory. The problem is it creeps badly before it goes off. Can anyone recommend a PHOENIX, AZ local gunsmith to tune it for me?

    Long Range Hunting....Absolutely

ALL: Your support and words of gratitude are what make it all worth it. When we see that our service and sacrifice has a purpose, we can go another day. I'll try to answer all questions in a few words. BOMAN: My first combat drop (bombs employed in combat) was Jan 24th, 2003. "Flash" and me...

Trigger for Win M70 Stealth II

Never replaced a trigger before on a rifle, but my 223WSSM Stealth II is in dire need. Don't want to spend the $250 for the high-end, so can the experts give me a word or two on a mid-range brand?

Introductions, lots of new folks here nowadays

Captain Lafe Dunn, US Air Force F-16 instructor pilot, currently stationed at Luke AFB in Phoenix, AZ. Did a year on the wire in Korea (Osan), dropped a lot of bombs on Iraq, and after 9 years active duty, I've had enough. I'm going to Springfield, Ohio Air Guard to keep flying the "Viper"...

Which would you choose? Browning Titanium vs Sako Finnlight?

Bought a SAKO FINNLIGHT 300WSM through gunbroker.com because noone local (Phoenix) could find one. Turns out, the guy sent me an older one, still new in box (far as I know) without the fluted barrel. Imagine my dissappointment. Anyway, the gun has that nice quality feel, but the accuracy...

    Long Range Hunting....Absolutely

Having flown several Iraqi Freedom combat missions in the F-16, dropping 36k lbs of laser and GPS guided bombs, firing 250 rounds of 20MM from my M61A1 Vulcan cannon, AND being an intermediate long range varmint shooter myself, I can truly appreciate this story I just found on Lilja's website...

    REL EQUIPMENT QUESTIONS

I just got my Sinclair (Wilson) ultimate trimmer. It not only does the trick, it makes it a lot of fun. I got the power attachment and use my cordless drill. I also got the chamferring tool. Sweet. If you don't have the $139, save up until you do. The micrometer attachment makes it SPOT...

    Kenai, Alaska moose hunt

All very good advice, fellas! That's the kind of stuff I am looking for - people who have done this before, not just the "book answers". I promise to enjoy the trip, and not hang the success of my first trip to Alaska on whether I get a shot. At the worst, it's a week I'm in God's awesome...
