Update, took the rifle to my local gunsmith today. He checked the ejectors and they were fine. Then, with the ejectors and firing pin removed from the bolt (a gutless bolt) he inserted a 26 Nosler SAAMI GO/NO GO gauge and it closed perfectly. Then he inserted 4 factory shells (all Nosler ammo)...

I decided to use a sharpie on a fresh case and noticed that, after checking the others that the base of the shoulders are getting pretty scratched up.

This mark definitely looks like it's rubbing the port on the receiver when ejected.

So do you think it's a bad box of ammo?

I had considered that as well. It's kinda hard to find 26 Nosler ammo on the shelves in my city. At $70 a box I was planning to only reload for it once it was broken in.

It’s a 26 Nosler. Not many choices out there. I was planning on reloading for it and have some Nosler brass, but I haven’t set up the dies yet. Was wanting to shoot one box of factory ammo for my break in.
