I agree that a 25-06 is not the ideal cartridge to be shooting elk with. Though i have no doubt that you will be able to kill an elk with it. I would recommend using a 110 grain accubond that bullet would do just fine. If you want a little more penetration I would use a Barnes 100grn tsx bullet...
Thanks for the Picture! I think that those bergers are a great bullet for shooting game. If you look at a cross section at both the berger and the amax they look the same. My question is what is the difference between the two except for one has a tip and the other doesn't?

I have a 24" stainless remington barrel chambered for a 300 WBY. Also a remington BDL stock that is already glass bedded. Also a 20" stainless remington barrel chambered for .308 win. Barrels are not shot out. Just need to get rid of some parts ive had laying around. Shoot me an offer.
