I use Benchmark, IMR3031, IMR4895 and IMR 4064 with good luck out of my 18inch barrel and my 29 inch barrel. Benchmark velocity is 2650 from my 18inch barrel and 2833 from the 29inch but groups look the same.

Matt, my temp issues were with W760, W748, A2460, WC732, MP555 and A2520 which were mainly the ball powders I tested. The Benchmark was very consistent in my two bolt guns and my Ar10. However the AR10 was 200 fps slower due to its shorter barrel and gas action.

Some powders that I uses in my 7mm-08 are Benchmark, Imr4895 and Imr 4064. They are very accurate.

I would not waste the gunsmithing cost on using a tank off Remington barrel even if you gave it too me. I have several Remington take off barrels in my gun room now. You would be better off buying a better brand barrel, ie Bartlein, Benchmark, etc for a new project. I have had TOO many issues...
