6mmBR
Old profile 6mm 88grn berger match/varmint #24323... light touch to rifling with 3 powder weights shot into low.2's/high.1's
New profile needs 30thou' back to shoot and only one powder weight to shoot into mid/low .2's
The problem you have, like the rest of us. Is that the powders used to achive the balistics in such rounds is "Factory Specific" and not available to home loaders.
This is often the case when folks complain that they cannot obtain the same results without reaching max pressures/or **** poor...
You might find you get a little more help if you let everyone know what case you're using.
Though l would assume 7mm at your side of the Pond means "Rem Mag"

l've used JBM to good effect for my shooting, just to give me the drops l need to "wind up" for a given/laser'd range.
l'm planing to be in Africa next year and this new card will greatly help me to zero at a longer range and "hold under" when l need to for the odd quick shot at a closer range...

Have you looked at "Whistling with Foxes" it's from Oz by a chap called Andrea Georgescou (sp?) it's not bad at all and shows him calling foxes in to point blank. Or you could try "The Warrener" videos from this side of the Pond, He's a bit "country rough" and has a certain reputation...
Mike.
You're very welcome. 20 Roe bucks thought it was a great load this season, as l didn't have any stand back up and say "go on then give me another one of those!".
l used to run 46 grains and a Sako case in the 120 v-max (total fox carnage!!) but quick load said it was grossly over...
Quickload quotes 130grn SMK and 42grns of N140 in a lapua case Fed 210 std primer, in my 24inch pipe this shoots into the .1's on a good day and flattens Roe Deer at 2800f/ps. Or all the same and just use a 120 v-max for Varmint fun.

Many thanks for your reply, a good friend dropped a half box of Speer 160's off for me to play with so l'll start there and work up...... Hmmm long range Roe deer, now there's a thought.
All the best.

l've got a 7-08rem 24" 1-10 twist barrel throated for 150grns but how heavy a bullet could l expect this twist to stabilise, l was looking at either 168berger or 162A-max if possible. lf not l'll just drop for the 150smk and leave it alone, but the higher bc bullets do appeal.....
Here we go..... Found it.... It states that they use a reduced amount and a special additive.... But I really like my barrel, and for the few extra clicks it takes me to hit things at 600yrds l'm not going to spoil the pipe...

I'll try and find the post on the other forum and stick it in here, but yes you have the general idea mate. They are supposed to give added energy in the same volume with roughly the same burn rates as their little sibbling. The only problem is that to do this they use nitro glycarin...

I was looking at N540 for my 7-08 last year till I discovered that it was a harsh double based powder that with top loads will trash the throat in your barrel. I moved to it's next of kin N140 and have never looked back.
Quickload gives me 42grains for a 120 v-max
Lapua brass
Fed' 210...
Where you been lookin' (riflecraft?) mate, give south yorks' shooting a call l think they got 'em cheaper than that if our pals over here can't help you
