The onlu disappointment I have is the lack of help from Howa. Called and talked with a guy that was supposed to send me a service request form and never heard back from them
I would probably say so. It’s either that or the barrel wasn’t a shooter from the beginning and I made it worse but hard to tell. But considering not many have issues with Howa it’s a good guess that the tubbs caused it. Good learning experience for sure
It’s a heavy target. Have a ultradyne max brake and this thing hardly even moves when shot. Super happy with it. Excited to put some hand load’s together and see what it does after it settles in
Well after installing a Criterion barrel this is what I ended up with. This is a 6 creed 24” barrel with factory 108 eld match ammo. The first box ran through the barrel with todays wind. Couldn’t be happier now.
Considering I screwed myself by not trying before modifying, do you think having my gs install the barrel and then set it in the chassis and shoot it first. If it shoots well then leave it. Hate to make more work like I already have.
The is bedding to the bottom of the recoil lug and rear of the lug where the flat is and then at the tang. I have clearance either side of the action and lug as well as the front side of the recoil lug.
I have Burris rings on the Burris xtr ii and the vortex I tried this weekend had warne rings. I have loosened and retorqued everything several times. I’m thinking I just ruined the barrel with the tubbs. I have had a few other guys look at the rifle and see nothing else that stands out to them.
So I spoke with Howa today and they said to return it however they advised me it would be 4 months tell they would get to it. Do I send it and wait or get a prefit barrel from a reputable company and though it on there. Spoke with criterion and I can have one here in a week.
