That's not a very stable looking shooting shooting set up.
Try a rock solid bench and some factory ammo first then go from there. Ditch that folding card table.

I have 4 of the Boyt hard side cases. Steel clasps, locks up nice and secure. Catch them on sale for $100. The 53" is what you would need for a 26" barreled rifle.
I haven't tried Ren Wax yet but read only good opinions about it. I have used Johnson"s paste wax and 100% cotton T-shirt on my walnut stocks. Very easy to apply, it sort of liquifies as you apply it. I Kroil all metal. My main concern is weather protection.
