    6.5 PRC Build

Gunwerks was a good proponent of the 6.5x284 and now they're pushing the 6.5 and 300 PRC. However, in a podcast, Aaron Davidson did indicate their testing showed the 6.5x284 still slightly outperformed the 6.5PRC. I own a 6.5x284 and have had it for 5 years. Shoots like a dream out to 1000 yds...

    Best scope for the money

My Vortex PSTs (3 of them) have all had QC issues. I’m done with them. I agree on LRP. It’s an okay scope at less than 500 yds. VX5 HD has been good but obviously not a 1000 yd scope for sure. I tried it at 1000. Mixed results. Out to 750 is was great. Try to find one with a zero stop. Agree on...

    WHAT CALIBER???

According to this months Shooting Times article on the 300PRC, it requires 8.5 twist.

    300 PRC

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing your groups and load development.

    6.5 PRC Build

I was responding to another post about which was Aaron’s comments. So, I’m not understanding the context of what you’re trying to imply. I don’t G.A.S. either.

    300 PRC

Just read up on the Hornady 300 PRC and watched a few of their marketing videos on it. Anyone had a chance to shoot this round yet?

    6.5 PRC Build

Listen to Aaron's comments. Even though he has Hornady as a sponsor, he implies that the 6.5-284 is as good as or better than the 6.5 PRC. They've done a lot of research and development and I trust his judgment on the subject. He reaffirmed to me that the 6.5-284 has the edge on the 6.5 PRC. Now...

    Which bullet for elk?

Perfect answer. I shot one at 400 yds with a Barnes VOR-TX Ammunition 7mm Remington Magnum 150 Grain TTSX Polymer Tipped Spitzer Boat Tail. Dropped him. Shot placement and what that particular rifle of mine liked. Remington Sendero.

    6.5 PRC Build

Those are the kind of reactions that keep kids from learning. Rather than laugh and shake your head, do the right thing and help him. Education is never a bad thing.

    6.5 PRC Build

And Aaron says the 6.5x284 is still better ballistically.

    6.5 PRC Build

Everyone on this 6.5PRC thread should go listen to Aaron Davidson’s podcast on the 6.5 PRC. Ballistics are better with the 6.5x284. Still the best round for longrange and most hunting in the US. But those that say it doesn’t meet spec are right. I personally don’t care. I reload and I’m sticking...
