Help with pack for moose Kifaru vs Eberlestock or Kuiu?

I'm late with the comment and have never hunted Alaska. That said, I would take my Barney's freighter frame and Moose bag. I love my Mystery Ranch packs, but when I know I am packing a big animal out, I grab my Barney's pack every time. Maybe my MR packs can carry as much weight (I doubt it)...

    Sleeping pad recommendations?

I pack one in when setting up a camp. If I am only a few miles from the rd and staying more than one night I certainly will. I love the lightweight stuff, but old is old, and I am old.

    Spring Bear Idaho

I have never called predators before, but I think I might learn how for this hunt.

    Spring Bear Idaho

I have read that males come out first because of increasing testosterone levels. Next, the sows without cubs emerge and finally, the sows with cubs come out. I don't know that I have ever read anything about the expected intervals between the different groups coming out of hibernation.

What county do you hunt? That is a very nice one you got.

    Best pack for mountain hunting

If I am going in deep I take my Barney's pack. If I am only a few miles from my truck I will wear my mystery ranch. If you want light, see if you can find a MR Selway. Mine weighs 5 lbs. Pack weight can be misleading though. My Barney's weighs more than 9 lbs empty, but it rides so well that it...

    Sleeping pad recommendations?

I bought the Big Agnes Q-Core SLX, long / wide because I kept rolling off everything else. If I let some air out my hips would hit the ground. I will use it for the first time next weekend chasing turkey.

    Best ultralight tent (with floor)

I want this tent. When the money piles up I will get one. Right now the tent I have works too well. I had the money last spring but they were on backorder.

    Best ultralight tent (with floor)

I have a 2 person spike. It is lightweight and packs down well. It is big for a 2-person. I would call it a 2 and 1/2 person tent. I had a silnylon bathtub floor made for it. I also modified the tent so I could use carbon tent poles instead of tracking poles to hold it up.

    Looking for a backpack

**** Straight. I have three Mystery ranch Packs. The biggest is the Selway. I modified it so I can attach the Guide Lid and with the lid it is 4,800 ci. Maybe not big enough for your sheep hunt. But I have packed two deer out with it. It is as advertised and as tough as anything made. It...

    Spring bear idaho

Idaho was not too costly either. We have a lot of bears in Georgia, and a shot at a big one, especially in the WMAs. We do not however have a Spring season. It is cheap to hunt here from out of state. The total non-resident license is $325 and there is no tag. You can kill 2 bears, so people...

    Spring Bear Idaho

I think you run the risk everything will be white that early. The last week in May through the first week in June is the best time. At least this is what many resident hunters told me. Glass for them in green grass at the snow line. You can also hunt them in some thick rainforest areas as well...

    Arizona Bear Hunting

No replies. That sucks. I was all excited to learn something. My son and I are going to Arizona for bear in late June. I just got back from some scouting and you have some bears there. What unit are you planning on hunting?

Catahoula is right. I took my son to Idaho for our first western hunt in 2019 and we agonized over gear. The grizzly issue was only an issue because of my ex-wife. My son took his Tikka in .270 and I lugged around a Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan in .416 Ruger. We were just North of Salmon, and grizzlies...
