Welcome. I just joined as well. There is a wealth of knowledge here from some top notch hunters

Traditions Performance Brands - they are less expensive but still good quality (I think they are made in Spain) - you spend the extra money on quality powder and projectiles I used a Traditions muzzleloader for an elk hunt and it served me well with open sights 170 yards

Brooks Adrenaline GTS. I have run many different brands and I think these are the best in the market if you need solid shoe with just a little support. I put many miles on mine and they still do the job. Plus they have normal colors unlike some other brands!

Can't go wrong with Vortex. Excellent products with excellent customer service. My dad's binoculars broke during an elk hunt and they were replaced now questions asked.

Does dry-firing cause degradation to your firing pin assembly?
