Your going your hunt of a lifetome what are you hunting and what rifle are you using ? Mine is easy

I would stay here in North America and give Big Horn Sheep a try. I would take my Vanguard .270 Win (tack driver) and my camera. Can't say which I would shoot with. I find Big Horns so majestic, I don't know if I could take one, but would love the opportunity.

Sig wins contract with the 277 fury

A standard 270 Win outperforms the 6.5 CM out to 1k yards also, has good barrel life, ammo is common and readily available, a superior hunting load. Only place 6.5 CM wins is in BC. I wonder why we need the .277 Fury with all the other 6.8 (and anything near it) options available.

    What about .270 Winchester?

I shoot 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip /IMR 4350 powder with excellent accuracy and usually dead in tracks performance. I haven't had one to go more than 50 yards in many years. I have been shooting .270 Win for over 45 years now, and I currently have 3 in my safe. I really love my Vanguard in...

    Weatherby BackCountry midnight

I also own a Vanguard 243 that I am not totally pleased with. I am having trouble getting it to group well. I have 3 other Weatherby Vanguards that do very well. In my case, I think it is just a matter of developing a decent load. When supplies become available, I will try some different loads.

    Are you Satisfied?

I surely don't have enough of anything to go to the range. I have enough for hunting for a few years, but as far as reloading it will be a while. I refuse to pay the prices that many are asking currently. I understand that supplies are limited, but so is the income of retired shooters. I have...

    Where's the powder?

I have found some powders locally at $15 to $20 per pound higher than pre Biden. They had CCI Large Rifle Primers at $16.99 per hundred. I have enough loaded ammo to last me about 10 years of hunting, but not enough for range shooting. I don't want to pay these prices, so I guess I will wait and...

Glasses or no glasses with scopes

Just another shooter that has issues with glasses. I wear NoLine BiFocals, where only the dead center of my glasses are in focus a distance. I shoot well (sub MOA ) at 100 yds without my glasses, but not with them on. I find that at 400 yards I am holding better groups with my glasses. Our Gun...

    Brass Drying Rack

I agree. The hot summer sun makes a great dryer. I put washed brass on an old bath towel and expose to bright sun for a few hours. I can do a few hundred at a time. I try to do enough that I have plenty for winter projects.
