I have a Nikon Monarch 4-16 on my 270, about $500. Purchased the turrets and high caps from Nikon if I remember right they were $45.00 plus shipping. Had it 3 years on one of my fav M700s and had no trouble with zero to date.

I also like the 150 gr. Barnes in my 280. A friend gave me some 130 gr. Seirra Gamekings he loaded (in 270) to try, I can report that this bullet performed well on a doe at close range (150 YDs) and left an quarter size exit hole. No tracking involved!

OK, so I voted....MOA, its whats on my rifles now and what I shot for years, funny thing is I learned on a MIL rig. I would not discount it (mil) . Like everything else it takes practice!

Thanks for your reply, any info on the subject is appreciated. Do you know if the final finish is thin and hard enough for parts such as the underside of the slide, slide rails (wearing surface's). I expect normal wear and tear on a finish with use.

I read the thread on cerakote (I am also a fan) and was wondering if anyone had tried the Duracoat product. It seems to be available in many more colors than cerakote. I am starting a 1911 project and interested in applying the finish myself, but have no experiance with the duracoat product...
