    I’d rather be able to take the 6 Creedmoor or old 243 Win hunting than some elephant gun but the legislature thinks they know best.

    That’s outdated. You can check out the DNR website that says any cartridge .350 to .50, necked or otherwise.

    A 250 grain triple shock is a lot less dangerous in someone’s hallway. You’re right though, a 50 BMG is just on the other side of lawful with the new changes.

    It is totally asinine that you can hunt deer with a BMG but not a 243! Better than shotgun only, and hopefully just temporary.

    I was just reading on another forum and saw that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has confirmed that Iowa hunters can use necked cartridges now as long as they're 35 to 50 cal. This was formerly shotgun season and then they added straight walled cartridges and now some necked cartridges...
