    New from Ohio

I have a few rifles set up for long range, a couple carry rifles, shotguns , and 2 Glocks. Most of my rifle shooting is targets to keep improving at the sport and varmints locally. I have done a few hunts out of state and I look forward to doing this again.

Welcome and enjoy. I see you are from Ohio. Not a real rifle friendly state due to regulation and population.

    gunwerks rifles

Living in Pa. I would surely consider Montour County Rifles with the gunsmith named Kevin Cram. I have several of his rifles which are superb and he will be getting my 300 WSM in for a new tube.

First Time Out with the 338 Edge

Sounds like you are having fun. That is what shooting is all about. my 338 edge is a Long Range Stalker by DE and is my go to when the wind is blowing as the 300 SMK do well in the wind. Like you with a good brake recoil is mild. Keep up the good work and enjoy your shooting.

    Savage MLII

My longest kill with the Barnes is 244 yards. They shoot so well I can't get myself to change. I have tried the Parker 300 gr. Match Hunter. Shot well, but I ran out of time this fall. I may try this summer again. I shot the 250's at first. Never had an issue with them. I just wasn't happy with...

    Brux Barrels Experiences

There are people out there who have had a bad experience with a Brux barrel. the key here is to watch how the manufacturer reacts to the complaint. as I stated before my experiences (3X) are all very positive. I have also had good experiences with other manufacturers. The decision is up to you...

    Savage MLII

If you have tinkeritis you may want to play with the 300 grain bullets as the two Savage muzzleloaders I have worked with have shot the heavier bullets better. I have the best results with Vht. N120 with the 300's. Check out Parker's offerings. They have some very good bullets/sabot...

    Savage MLII

I am shooting the 10ML. It cannot match the custons in velocities by no means. I am shooting the 300 gr. Barnes Original SSP at 2290 fps. My son-in-law is shooting the 300 gr. Harvester Scorpion at similar velocities. These numbers may run a little hotter than my Marlin 45/70.

    Brux Barrels Experiences

Kevin at MCR has built three rifles for me. All have used Brux barrels. They clean very easy, they are doing well on round counts, and the all shoot very well. Kevin builds awesome rifles and the Brux barrels are performing in his applications. I will not hesitate to use them on my 300 WSM.
