    Bolt Action Papoose?

Once had a Marlin Papoose .22 semi-auto. Easily grouped 1" at 50 yds. What I would like to see is a bolt action like this and barrels for 60-gr Aguilas (1:9"), .17 HM2, .22 WRM, even 5mm Remington RF. Barrels for the Papoose could not be very expensive.

I shot some 60 gr Aguila SSS Sniper Subsonic Ammunition today.

GENTS: Those who have 9" twist bbls-- How do regular 40 gr .22s shoot in them? Owlhoot

    Long Actions/Short Cartridges

Can a rifle such as a Springfield 1903 or a Remington Model 721 be chambered for .250 Savage? Does it have to be blocked behind the ctg?

What is the slickest centerfire bolt action?

Ever notice that gun writers avoid this subject? My idea of the slickest action is the Sauer. One that would seem to need slickening up is the Ruger M77. A Pre-64 Win Model 70 can be slick. The British SMLE might be the best of the WW II military bolt guns. What do you think?

    Marlin M336 rear bbl band

Have a Marlin M336 from 1963. Recently obtained new style rear bbl band with the sling swivel stud in the bottom of the band. What is the trick to getting the original bbl band off without messing up the forearm, etc?

    Bring back the 5mm Rem!?

I asked RUGER if they might chamber a few M77/22s for it. Answer was NO. I think one of their existing magazines would readily convert to it. I asked HORNADY if a .20 Hornet might not be a bad idea. They agreed that it would be neat, but said they are too busy turning out what they already...

    28 ga Rifled Slug Barrel?

I assume a 28 ga rifled slug barrel does not exist.... Is there anyone besides me who would like to see this? BTW, they did make a 3" 28 ga shotshell (Winchester). For experimental purposes. Found one at a gun show.

Spotting scope - angled or straight?

I like the straight version. The angled version has a few more parts. It probably is easier to spot targets from a bench with. I read somewhere that sales are about even, so one probably is as much in demand as the other. A look at eBay tells me that a person who buys a new one better...

    The Best Sleeping Bag

Around 1973, I purchased an Eddie Bauer Heavy Duty Bag. Cost was around $350. 4 lbs goose down insulation. Rectangular, not a mummy bag. Green cotton outer cover. "Rip stop" nylon inner lining. It had little loops around the bag, with velcro tabs every few inches to hold the removable flannel...

    I have a newly purchased Savage 220f.

Hello Joe- Savage most likely thinks people will shoot copper slugs or saboted lead slugs. The old muzzle loading Springfields of the Civil War era used a 1:70" twist, which shot soft lead slugs accurately. No leading, but I wonder if the slugs tumbled at around 300 yds? They left nasty...

    I have a newly purchased Savage 220f.

Charlie- Do you know what rate of twist they use in the Savage 220?

Rem 870 20 ga fully rifled heavy bbl w/sights (?)

Did Remington make 870 bbls in 20 ga that were extra heavy, with sights, fully rifled? They were most likely meant to be 12 ga, but bored 20 for extra accuracy. Anyone ever tried one on a bench?
