    Bell & Carlson; state loyalty

Good point. I always skim bed even with the aluminum block.

    Bell & Carlson; state loyalty

I’ve got a couple of late model B&C stocks and love them. I’m thinking of getting another one soon. Buy it and enjoy.

Wax-in your blueing, along with your wood. Weather Protection.

I have used wax before and it can make a stock slick. These days I use a silicone cloth every time I use a gun. Fingerprints, surface rust are a thing of the past. I will say “Blue” finishes have become the minority in my safe. Cerrocoat, stainless, and DLC are much more common and perform...

I’d like to restock a model 70, not as many options as 700’s and clones.

I don't have the stock weights of my B&C Ultra light M70 Short action stock. I do know it shaved 3 ounces off the total weight compared to the wood Featherweight original stock. I did a little skim bedding over the aluminum block and it shoots lights out. Very happy with the money, looks and...

LEUPOLD VARI-X III 4.5X14X50 mm LONG RANGE

I have the exact same 30mm Long Range marked scope with straight turrets. Mine is 20+ years old but still bright and has served me well. I’ve seen them around for $700/850. Not often seen anymore.

    Nosler Accubond

I used BT’s for years and got great bang/flop results but few complete pass throughs. Two holes bleed better than one so I switched to Accubonds. Not a .30 caliber but my .280 Ackley Improved has over 30 kills mainly whitetails/hogs from 75 to 300 yards. I only recovered one bullet, the rest...

    Accubond Fail?

I had a few with 7mm 140 grain Accubonds. It was a new box to me, but with the scarce supply things come out of the closet to be sold sometimes. Not sure of the age. I noticed a powdery white powder. I’m leaning towards a reaction to the swagging process rather than aged plastic.

    Brass storage & Organization

I use the Harbor Freight boxes as well. I use ziplock bags and store in the Harbor Freight boxes with the O ring seal. Easy to store and get density.

Safety Recall - Ruger Mark IV Recall

I have two MkIV pistols since November 2017 and both show to already be retrofitted per their serial number lookup. This recall must have been out awhile I’m assuming.

Help with dating a older Model 70

Definitely not a pre 1964 production. The “Classic” action was introduced in the early 90’s. Although it has a claw extractor the rest of the action is quite different from the pre 1964 design. Still great. Look at the barrel and see where it was made, New Haven, Portugal, South Carolina. Nice...

    Nosler accubond performance

I am a Accubond fan. I personally shot over 30 animals, wild hogs and whitetail deer. I only recovered one bullet, 7mm 140 grain 95% retained weight. All others were complete pass throughs under 300 yards. The first shots were head and shoulder shots on the big boar hogs and the bullets...
