    Sako VS Browning

I have an option to get a minty A Bolt, early 90s stainless stalker, plastic stock, in 375H&H for 1500CAD I have zero experience with browning rifles. comes with rings and a throw away scope, iron sights but I already have a Sako AV in the same, but its in rough condition, needs a total...

Update from Hodgdon Powder Company - Jan 12th

While I would love them to build another facility, I understand the financing side of it. I'm surprised they didn't bring up shipping facilities handling limitations 'for personal use explosives' that limit distribution, especially up to Canada (at least we get some EURO stuff up here.... At 2x...

Looking for a rifle to recommend to my father

I've got a tikka in 308 and it kicks like a mule. It's worse than my 300wm honestly. Going back I would have gotten a... Tikka with laminate stock. If the gun is still good and you reload try a furniture change and lighter loads. Otherwise, I like the 65x55

Tikka .308 Factory Elk ammo needed

My tikka loves the 165 nosler AB but I would take the 180 partition (both federal loaded). The 165s are accurate as needed, the 180s I would trust for the purpose but my groups open up to 1.5ish. (more like 2 but I rarely do MY job) and frankly if I'm 10/10 on a 4in target at 200 and 9/10 on 6in...

    Sunglasses for hunting

Most optometrist carry at least 1 pair of safety glasses that can be had in tinted flavours, and if not a 4eyeguy they can have plain lenses that come super cheap. Side note, I avoid polarized shades as they have always bugged me while looking through a scope

    Ear Protection for rifle shooting

The gel cups! Game changer. Some have an indent for glasses but they are useless for that purpose. The gel will form around the frames regardless of shape or size. I put some on low profile walkers from Cabela's and it made a HUGE difference. It made them as good or better than the full size...

    Sling swivel size, European

I'll see what I can find for just the swivel, I don't mind it being threaded. My last option is swapping out the stud, it's right on the end of the forend, almost inline with the barrel and I don't see there being much meat to mess with.

    Sling swivel size, European

So, I'm short QD sling swivels for my mauser m12. There are 3 studs, rear, front bottom (bipod) and front forward. The bipod stud is standard but the other two have smaller then normal holes. Is this a euro standard? What is the size to search for? I can't find anything in the manual or...

    Mount Question

Being a 1 peice mount I think you should be ok. As long as you're not throwing some nitro-esque down the tube. I personally would like a little more room, but I'm afraid scratches on my car will throw off my zero

    308 questions

I hope you won't be offended, but being a Canadian, I'm going to go spend some quality 'research' time with this... Also I hate you

ATF sure taking their good sweet time!

Sounds like our PALs and hunting licenses in Canada. '3-6 weeks' became 12-15 months because the government wants to discourage new/renewing firearms owners and hunters

    Tikka short track

Should be interchangeable. I lost a 308 mag and got a 243 mag and I still run it. Most of the packaging has multiple caliber printed on it

    Hard case recommendations

I would go pelican if I had the money, a friend of mine had a few different and swapped them all for 8-10 pelicans. That being said, I got a huntshield (basic whatever) from Canadian Tire and put in a couple mm scilicone under the rubber seal (probably wasn't needed honestly but there is...

    Reasonable bipod

I appreciate your opinion and agree with you. The 'knockoffs' have been ok for me, lacking cant. Ive had the option for a NICE twist leg adjustment and found out I didn't like the mechanism. I've got a line on collapsible sticks, worth the trial as far as I'm concerned. If that's the type of...
