    338 Seekins DM

Hi Glen. Thanks a lot for the offer. I might have to take you up on that. As for the pillars, the supplied pillars were not used as the McMillian A5 stock came with pillars installed and action inlet for the mag system. Do you have a length for your supplied pillars so i could check mine...

    338 Seekins DM

Hi there, has anyone had any major issues with the 338 Lapua Detachable magazine system from Seekins precision for the 338 edge? My gunsmith ( who is a very well known and trusted gunsmith in New Zealand) had a hell of a time and i was wondering if it was normal because it is not the case it...

My 270 Win is finally finished! Deer beware!

I went with the Nightforce ultralight rings for two main reasons. Firstly they are bullet proof (and not too heavy) and secondly because I could fit a Defensive Edge ACD The base was chosen because it was light, strong and a good price (I have EGW bases on all my rifles) The scope was chosen...

My 270 Win is finally finished! Deer beware!

My general hunting rifle is finally finished! *:) Not really a long range rifle like my Edge, but by no means a 'bush basher'. I will be using it for all my hunting out to 600 meters I'm really happy with how it came out (Much nicer than the Mountain rifle that is originally was!) The...

    Another NZ Edge!

Well we managed to get 10 rounds down the tube before the cleaning jag decided to snap :D..... don't ask! Once we got it dialed in I managed to shoot a 3 shot group of 0.31". Will need to get back to the range to confirm the true accuracy of this rifle but it seems that were off to a good...

    Another NZ Edge!

I have shot off most surfaces, they are fantastic on rock! The only thing that they aren't great on is really smooth surfaces (car bonnets etc) but they are defiantly no worse on these surfaces than the standard rubber feet.

Early 60's action for 338 Edge build?

The only other thing that i think is worth mentioning is: On the early actions there is no groove on the left locking lug to help the bolt from moving excessively when cycling the bolt. Which isn't a big deal unless you have an extremely strange way of closing the bolt (i.e. lots of upwards...

    Another NZ Edge!

the SS spikes are attached with a SS cap screw. You need to remove the Standard roll pin that holds the spring and feet. then replace it with the cap screw. was a little fiddly I found, but not too hard once I figured out the correct sequence.

    Another NZ Edge!

Was built by Dean Maisey in Tauranga. Excellent gunsmith IMO, I cant wait to get my 270 win back from him aswell :)

    Another NZ Edge!

The bipod feet are made by Gunworks in Canterbury in NZ. They are machined from solid stainless and work extremely well on almost every surface! (don't slip at all) Makes a huge difference when shooting with a small amount of forward pressure on the rifle
