Couldve built any caliber gun I wanted for my newest bear elk and deer rifle and opted for a regular 7 rem mag. Shooting 180gr smk at 2780 fps it shoots more accurately then my father inlaws 338 edge canyon rifle and it also cost 1/4 the price.
I spend 8+ hrs a day in my calk boots hiking up to 15 miles some days always moving and never on level ground Ive tried 4 other brands and the wescos got rid of my back pain and actually last more than 6 month. Wesco custom fits from the shape of your foot to the size of your calves and height...
I was looking at getting a savage model 11 long range hunter in 300 wsm to replace the gun that got stolen just wondering if anyone has shot one and if they shoot good.
Not sure you can do an edge on the Stevens 200 action I believe you would need a savage large shank action to do any of the ultra mag cases. I just did a savage 116 from 270 to a 6.5-284 and I love it remember anything like a 7 rem mag or larger will need a new bolt face.
I'm trying to find some retumbo powder to load for my gun and my father in law needs h1000 and 300gr 338 Cal smk for his gun any little bit to buy would be nice its hard to find anything in our area.
I'm stuck between the 6.5-284 and the 260. I shoot alot so I was leaning toward the 260 for barrel life and reloading cost being a little lower. I was also liking the 6.5-284's slightly higher velocities. Opinions would be nice. Any load recipes for either would be greatly appreciated.
