Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56 vs ATACR 5.5x25x56mm

ATACR all day! I have the 7-35 on a RPR 338 Lapua. Quite a pair I also have a BEAST on a custom 300WM. Deadly! NF for me. You get what you pay for.

Bipod or no, what’s your experience?

Atlas V8 bipod with a LaRue Tactical quick disconnect is always on my reach out and touch'em rifle. Definitely worth the weight. When you get use to shooting off hand with it why mess with perfection. Hahaha

    Does energy = lethality?

Growing up in Western PA and then moving to Maine during my early years of hunting I used and saw more whitetail taken with a 270 than any other caliber. Great gun. Every one should have one in their safe. Two in mine!

    Does energy = lethality?

Great post. Agreed 100% Shoot what your find comfortable. It's more important to have a well placed shot that throwing a lot of lead down range. Hey I also have great time shooting long range with my Sharps 1874 45-110. Talk about expensive ammo! Reloading helps. Old school vernier sights...

    Does energy = lethality?

It's all about shooting what your comfor GREAT POST. It's all about shooting what you're comfortable/successful with. At the same time, I'm one of those 300WM guys. I'm comfortable and accurate with my 300WM. I also shoot my AI AX50 Elite at distances beyond 1,000 yds. Don't dis all 300WM...

    Does energy = lethality?

Well slap my wrist. Didn't realize Kestrel was a four letter word on this site. It's kind of funny Les and his son at LRH introduced me to many of these new technologies. Hmm. This is a LRH forum, right? I'm more confused by the comment. I would think any available advancements in...

    Does energy = lethality?

Well placed shot is critical. Shouldn't rely on terminal velocity affect on the bullet.

Using the BC enter in what you would anticipate would be your environmental factors for your hunt. You might be surprised how much altitude, barometric pressure, & temperature affect velocity and energy. Check it out.

    Does energy = lethality?

You're on the right track. Accurate 800 yd shots in the field take a lot of practice irregardless of the caliber you choose. I like your comment about shooting with your kids as they get older. I have had a Browning A-Bolt 30-06 in my safe for that purpose. I have liked the versatility of...

    Does energy = lethality?

When I'm that close I like my bow. Large brown bear at 38 yrs in Canadian Rockies! One clean shot bear fell after stumbling 25 yds. Long range hunting from mountain side to mountain side requires a whole different set of skills to take an animal with one clean shot, even with technology. We...
