I agree with Sykes - Cooper may run 300 over your $2K but I've owned several of them and they all shot very well.

Sounds like scope,mount, rings or action screws. Try removing them all and use a torque wrench to remount. If that doesn't correct problem replace scope.

I've got an XP in 6.5 x 47 in an HS stock. started with a used XP for $750 and had Nate Chesney build out the project. Will shoot .5 MOA all day long. Also have an Encore in 6.5 x 47 with an MGM bbl. About half the investment of the XP but won't shoot as good. ( about 1.25MOA).

Excellent article - I'm a fan of both the Creedmoor and the 6.5 x 284. I've had great success with the Hornady 129 Interbond on antelope, deer and elk.
