The scope you have choosen is fantastic. However I would suggest you get it with a regular duplex or a fine duplex recticle. The Vh retcle just has too much junk in the way to see the crosshairs. Mike Alford

Certainly the 204 is a fantastic round and will bring death to most any animal when the point of aim is correct and the rifle is shot correctly. Shot Placement is the key to all rifles. Mike Alford

To answer your question simply. YES, The expensive scopes are worth it. Just think how much you are spending to go hunting amd shooting. Then just think what a waste it would be to buy a cheap scope add still spend all that money on hunting/shooting. Mike Alford

Just to get in at the last minute. I have a Bob Hart Brake on my 300 WSM and it has helped alot. The Hart design is different from others in that it directs the blast 90* from the bore and not back at the shooter or whatever. I like the Bob Hart stuff anyway. Mike Alford
