Rechambering .300 Weatherby to .300 RUM

I have had a lot of Weatherbys both factory and set up on bench guns. I also have considerable money tied up in Wby custom shop rifles with more about to be ordered. In other words, I am not anti Wby There is no doubt that a Wby that has a freebore dimater that is just about on bullet dimater...

    Weatherby action vs. Remington action

If you do what J Jones suggests and get the HS Precision stock you will have a rifle that looks like a Sendero. In fact it would be a Sendero except with a better barrel. Accuracy from factory rifles is luck of the draw, that is why you see so many varied answers on which is the most accurate...

    Weatherby action vs. Remington action

I have owned lots of each and have quite a bit of money tied up in Wbys from their custom shop. Your question as to will they do a 26 inch barrel for the standard calibre, then answer is yes but it will cost heaps because it will take you to another part of Wby. You can order a Wby with a...

    Free bore

Less likely to get pressure spikes with hot loads. Seems to give higher velocities with powders that are faster burning than normal for the calibre. Seems in general to be more likely to put the first shot from a cold clean barrel or a barrel with cold hard fouling into the group. If the...

Weatherby Mark V Giving me fits. Keep it or trade?

The Weatherby trigger (unless it is a very old Wby) needs he trigger return spring replaced. This requires the trigger assembly to be removed and the trigger to be disassmembled. Removing the trigger can be hard as it is on super tight. Once done most Wbys with a combination of the sear...

When you get a thread like that, try going to Edit and then click Select All and click Copy. Open Word and click paste in. It will drop the pictures but all the typing is OK. Sometimes I just drag across an individual post and copy and paste into Word. Mike

    Weatherby rifles and cartridges

7ultra, If you are looking to...dollars out....accuracy in...forget Weatherbys. I am not anti Weatherby. In fact I have just had a pair of 378 upgraded Deluxes arrive to the gunshop via the Weatherby agent and each of them cost $5250AUS = $4000US But if I wanted the most accurate 378s...

Best factory rifle accuracy under $1400US

Best factory rifle accuracy under $1400US In my opinion there is no answer as it will be luck. If top consistent accuracy is your goal and the budget is limited then save your dollars when buying the rifle so as you can fit a Tobler or Maddco barrel. Also, if you can't do it yourself then...

    30-378

1894 I ended up putting it on hold due to my mothers health which involved a 24 hour care situation for a couple of years. But now that these 378s have arrived and things are returning to normal I will probably revive it and in 375 bore size. Price will also be a lot more attractive now due to...
