    25-06 VS 270 Win

Looking for input. I have a dream of harvesting an elk with a. 303 British Enfield, No1 Mk4 next year. I use 150 grain, and 174 grain ammunition. Love this rifle: insanely accurate, low recoil on my messed up shoulder, and never trailed a deer far. That's not elk! I plan to go to Wyoming next...

    25-06 VS 270 Win

Add on: Matrix, Underwood, Hornady, and Remington Cor-lokt with Winchester as my back up, FOR ME, are my only brands. I have had casings and brass fracture with federal and had to replace 2 barrels. Once, ok but twice I'm done.

    25-06 VS 270 Win

If I may please. Not to be oppositional, I would share the 25 06 with a 120 grain bullet, using a 26 inch barrel and even a 24 inch barrel, has been very well used for elk. I am a fan of the .270 as well, and there have been article written with substantive documentation that the 25 06 so...

Is the 243 the best whitetail deer cartridge?

I love the .243. I also argue for the 26-06 at longer ranges as well. Fast, flat shooting, lethal. Well placed shot, and haven't had a deer ask me what I used. The 30-06 is legendary, true. Yet these two calibers are just as deadly with lower recoil. I also use a .303 British 4-1, as well ss...

Best 25-06 factory ammo for Elk

This caliber is no softie. IF you can find the ammunition, i would stick with Hornady or Remington core lokt at 117 or 120 grains. And use a 24 or 26 inch barrel. Finally, sight in at 2 inches high at 50 yards -- for most ammunition this means dead on at 275 to 300 y

    270 Win vs 6.5 PRC

What can you shoot well? What ammunition is available most? That makes the decision easier. For me, the 6.5is overrated. Ok. No hate mail. That's for me. I have used both, and at age 63, I continue to migrate back to the .270, sighted two inches high at 50 yards. Mine is then "pie plated"...

Need advice on light a light recoiling hunting rifle!

If cxp2 or 3, consider a .270 130 grain with boat tail ammo. I have bad shoulders, and use that, or a 25-06 with 117 or 120 grain load, both preferring Hornady or Remington cor-lokt. Well placed shot brings meat. The latter is the easiest on my shoulders. Another consideration for shorter...
