In my pre-64 Winchester Model 70, with factory 26", found after trying varous powders that IMR 4350 is the best in it. I use winchester cases and CCI 250 primers behind a 120 grain Barnes Tipped TSX Boattail, 3480 FPS and .6" three shot groups at 200 yards.

Here is a adult female I called in, used my old Winchester Model 97, with 1 1/2" ounce of copper plated BB. Worked very well. Pattern good to just over 50 yards with a full choke. I also use a Beretta AL-2, 3" mag, with 1 7/8's ounce of copper plated BB, the group is tight to 70 yards. MEV

Got a long barrelled pistol for my daughter, Winchester Model 70 19" barrel with boss. I found 51.3 grains of IMR 4064, CCI250, Winchester brass and 130 gr. Tipped TSX, gave me 3050 FPS. 1.25" three shot groups at 200 yards. Am happy with it and so is she.

Most fall between 132 to 136 grains, with heavies at 138 and lows at 130. I keep all and use the heavies or lights to work loads or sight in. When processed and weighed they perform very well. I full length size new cases, check all for proper length, deburr the flashhole, true primer pockets...

I use Winchester brass, while they do have about an 8 grain spread on the weight, I sort and have bags for all at 1 grain. I prefer Winchester brass, thinner and siffer, more volume for heavier loads. MEV

Just got out for the first time last Friday morning. Called this adult female in, she arrived in just under 4 minutes and was rewarded for being so prompt. 100 yards, 1 shot, with Ruger MkII .223, 3440 fps with a 50 grain V-max. Don't get many "long" shots calling in my country, lots of trees.
