I agree, I have a 3-12x50 schmidt bender Zenith and it's spectacular within 200 yards but the fixed parallax and lack of a graduated reticle limit its usefulness
I would have a hard time picking which one to buy, a deal that good is hard to pass up.
For an out of the box rifle those look solid at that price point. Even a budget build would run more than $1300.
Wish I could help but I only have tree stand experience. I would expect similar conditions though, being up high in the wind it is much colder than the ground or being in a blind so I'd bundle up.
For day hunts I load the rifle and usually have an extra few on hand but if I was going to be out for a longer hunt I would bring a full 20 in the pack. Maybe more if I was going to be somewhere that had the possibility of seeing hogs. You just don't want to run out and see a pile of piggies you...
Would a full tilt fireform load cause the brass to stretch all in the one spot when converting to AI? Maybe try fireforming with a cooler load then turn it up.
A lot of people really like the strike eagle and use it for competition but I haven't heard how it does as a hunting scope. There were 2 at the nrl22 match I shot last month but I didn't get a chance to look through them. Looking forward to hearing how it does in low light because that's a lot...
In the last 2 weeks I've seen the product page get updated to include inlets for detachable magazines for r700 short and long. I'm guessing that they might keep adding inlets as they go.
I'll do a write-up once I get mine. Gotta find a t1x before it shows up lol
I'm not sure, I would hope to not be the first customer service guinea pig but if it happens I'll let everyone know how it goes.
With the pre-order it's down under $750 so it's not that far off from a manners or McMillan adjustable stock or a mdt chassis with the skeleton buttstock and a pistol...
I guess nobody has seen/heard much about them. I want to pre-order one with the tikka inlet and hope I can get a t1x into it.
Someone talk me into or out of it.....
I am going to be getting the shortest leupold backcountry mount for my 700 sa with a 50mm bell. Should have a little gap with the sporter barrel but hopefully it will get me to a better cheek weld
Not sure you can really go wrong with any of the custom actions. I want to build a tikka because I don't have a $1400 action budget but they don't have different lengths just like many of the manufacturers.
