    SOLD/EXPIRED Exo K2 3500 Multicam

Does the K2 come in different frame sizes? If so what frame size is this one?

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

Interesting, I’ll have to seek out some advice on what COAL would be on some 210 Berger VLD’s or something that size in this wildcat. I assumed the .30 cal bullets wouldn’t be significantly longer than the 6.5’s.

You may have brought up the big issue with my current plan, my current bottom metal take AICS long action mags, not CIP. So that might be a limiting factor if I need 3.7+.

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

Yeah, those are good thoughts. I really like the idea of keeping my .260 Rem barrel because I have a lot of good brass, and dies for it. I don’t know if it would ever happen, but I like the thought of being able to spin it back on for Whitetail season and target shooting.

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

Yeah, my back of envelope math, not knowing how cartridge design will influence velocity or how necking it up will influence capacity has it maybe a little faster than a .300 WSM? I’m sure someone else will have better estimates.

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

Yeah, that’s why I would like to see if someone else has taken the plunge. It’s case capacity is quite a bit higher than the 06 from what I’ve seen. I also think a .30 RPM wouldn’t quite be the barrel burner the 6.5 RPM is likely to be, but I am far from an expert in these issues

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

Yeah, my biggest concern is long term brass availability on the Weatherby. They have some once fired for about $1 per piece now, I feel like other guys on the forum will have a better idea of if anyone else like Hornady, Peterson, or Lapua will ever pick this up. I’m guessing it mostly comes...

Nice! I think it has good potential, probably not the most economical project at this point. Let me know how your build goes if that’s the direction you decide to go.

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

Yeah, I have an oversized PTG one piece bolt in it right now. The .260 Remington barrel is fine, I just don’t shoot it much, so I like the idea of being able to switch back when I want, which is probably why I would just pick up another bolt if I went with a magnum.

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

That’s one reason I think this cartridge is cool, it reminds me of the old .425 Westley Richards and the other old rebated rim cartridges that will fit on a standard action ,473 bolt face. Obviously the PRC, .300 Win Mag and other magnum size rounds will outperform it and be cheaper, but like...

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

That makes sense, the WBY RPM just happened to come out as I was thinking about a new build. I’ll probably end up waiting a while just to see if the 6.5 RPM takes off at all and more brass and die options show up on the market. I would assume PTG made that reamer design for someone so maybe some...

    30x6.5 RPM Wildcat Thoughts

I’ll preface this with I know that it would be cheaper just to buy a new bolt and go with a magnum, but I have a Remington 721 in .260 Remington I was considering rebarreling in the near future. I had been interested in the new 6.5 WBY RPM, but I saw PTG has a 30x6.5 RPM reamer now. I was...

Rolling Hills Rifle and Pistol Club, it's a private club about an hour away from Ft. Leonard Wood. 1200 yard range, rim-fire range, small rifle and pistol ranges. Only been there once but they have a nice set up. They have memberships but if you look at their facebook they have days that are...

New 1200 yard range in Missouri.

I believe it's $250 for individuals and $400 for families. You should check their facebook to see all they offer. I think they might be having specials at their grand opening also.
