Do you have access to a chronograph? I find that using a chronograph for this works much better then just looking at groups. With the chrono you can see where the velocity is similar from each load.

Hey Shawn, just out of curiosity I am wondering if you are going to be offering your how-to videos in a package deal? I would like to get them in a set.

I would also like to hear about the Redfield Rampage. I haven't seen anything about this scope. Is this around the same quality of the Nomad?

I found out that some rifles shoot them great when they are jammed into the rifling and others not. I have also herd of people setting them deep until they start to group again.

I don't have any experience with hunting Africa, but I would say you wouldn't want to go with anything smaller then a .300 win mag. This is a nice flat shooting round that will easily take you out past 500m. With some good stout loads I would think that it will perform on African game as well.

If you are planning on getting in to long range stuff then you should get the tactical scope now. Why buy another scope in a year when the long range bug bites you. Plus if you get it now you will be able to shoot and practice with the set up that you will be hunting with.

I tried from 73grs. to 77grs. Loads in the 76 range were the most accurate, and consistant from charge to charge.

I only neck size my brass. I also keep them all on the same number of firings.

I am shooting all the rounds at once. I try to shoot 20 in a string. Depending on the temp I will shoot 3 shot groups and let the barrel cool in between. I don't clean at all during the string. The weather was sunny but where my chrono was it was in the shade. I was using IR screens.
