I have used them very effectively out of an ar for coyotes. I have never shot smaller dogs but on the adults the damage to pelts has been very minimal. Very good at putting the coyote down right where you hit them.

None of the smiths that I know of around here have a license more like an apprenticeship to learn the trade and an FFL to be able to take the guns into posession.

use a controlled expansion bullet built for big game and you wont have near the blow ups. Something along the lines of a partition or interbond, barnes TTSX.
