I am looking for a highly qualified riflesmith to build a long range rifle for me. I live near Galveston, TX and am willing to travel to the smith up to about 50 miles.
I'm working up loads for my .30-06 and want to try different primers. I am willing to trade Federal 210M large rifle primers for winchester and/or remington large rifle primers. The trade is a box of 100ea for a box of 100ea.
You are correct Derek in that I want a new caliber using the original stock. In my current build I am taking it slow and one step at a time so the cost of the build is manageable. The stock will come later after I research stocks.
I have a Savage Model 110CL (left hand) in .270 caliber (with box magazine) and want to shoot 6.5x47 Lapua in the same stock (also in left hand action with a box magazine). The new barrel must be "match grade". How do I proceed? Any recommendations on barrels/action etc.?
Richard, I use Imperial Sizing Die Wax and I always clean the cases after resizing. I also use a bore guide, so if that's the culprit, than I may have to buy a bore guide that seals the chamber better.

Still another ?.
How does one clean the fouling from the bolt lug area and the surrounding area without damaging the throat, rifling, chamber, etc. etc. etc. and without getting any cleaning solution in the trigger?
Another ?.
Why do some of my cases get soot at the back ie. where the ejector grabs the case. There is also some soot on the last 1/4 of the case. This only happens for the first 5 to 7 shots! After that, no soot.
Edd:
You said SAMMI specs call for case length to be---2.474" to 2.494". My shortest case is still shorter than specs (2.470"). I wonder if the brass will stretch with more firings???
