    Which muzzle brake??

Just MHO, you need .050" on each side for a shoulder for the brake to rest on, so 1/2x28 threads are required. If it is a hunting rifle, radial brake is okay...target rifle you might shoot prone, get a directional brake...just needs to be timed. Recommend you look at Gentry Quiet brake at...

Benefit of a Electronic Powder Dispenser?

I have had an RCBS Chargemaster for about 5 years...Christmas gift from my wife:). I have had no issues with accuracy...if it starts to drift after a while, I recalibrate. Advantages...more consistent than my hand and a beam scale with a trickler, and it simply saves time.

Quick question, root cause of 2 + 1 groups?

Back in the day when I was young, 40 to 50 years ago, a rifle didn’t have to group less than 1/2 inch to kill a deer; a 1 1/2” group was really good and acceptable. Now folks seem to believe that their rifle should group under a 1/2 inch or it’s not worthy😳 It’s always better when a rifle...

    Powder Alert!

Yes, it is, as long as folks continue to buy powder at these extreme prices. Stop buying/hoarding powder, let the volume build up in stores and storage facilities, and the prices will come down. Reloading powder in not an inelastic commodity like gasoline and basic staples. This reminds me of...

    Barrels makers

Why don’t you order a quality barrel blank from bugholes.com and have your local gunsmith (LGS) chamber, thread, and headspace it? No LGS?

    CLR and Chrome Moly Barrels

I am a bit late to this party…I haven’t seen anyone mention Boretech Eliminator. Works great on copper and carbon. JMHO but I would refrain from putting acidic etching solutions such as CLR down my barrels. Label on back of the bottle says “may etch older sinks, tubs,…”

    Reloading first time

I just replaced my 15 year old Rockchucker single stage press with the new Rebel press…I like the Rebel very much. The Rebel kit is probably a very good choice. Keep it simple…buy a quality kit of whatever brand you choose and read the manual before you start, then follow the manual step by...

    25 prc issue

Hmmm? While you are spinning your 135s around 308,000 rpm, they are in a comfortable range for stabilizing that bullet. Have you cleaned and broken in the barrel properly...I don't mean some exhaustive 100 round break-in procedure, but those first 10 to 20 rounds down your tube will deposit a...

    Best factory rifle?

We recently built a rifle for a customer in 30-06 Ackley Improved on a Rem 700 action. Because it was strictly a hunting rifle, we lapped the bolt lugs, but did not true the action. It is consistently shooting 1/2” groups…the customer spent about $2200 on parts and labor. Having said all...

    New rifle caliber

If you don’t reload, 300 WM. But if you do reload, you should consider the 30-06 Ackley Improved. Some will disparage the cartridge saying it does not provide enough return on investment in terms of capacity and feet per second over the 30-06, but in my experience, it performs within 100 FPS...
