Rule of Thumb For Scope Power at Various Ranges?

You have a lot of answers, but thought I would add my own preference that is more indirect to your question and more hunting situational. For my blacktail and elk hunting in Western Oregon, I want a variable scope with a good low end of 2x or 3x in the dense woods. Shot this years buck at 25...

    Weatherby Fans & why?

We have three Weatherbys. All picked up in the last 18 months. First one was a Mark V Camilla in 6.5 cm. My wife loves it. Next was a 280 ai Backcountry Ti. This fit my needs for an ultralight gun. The last, another Camilla in 7mm-08 for my wife. This is a Vanguard. I wish they produced a 7mm-08...

A Forever Caliber for my Daughter

I likely would have gone Tikka, but for my wife loves the fit of her Camilla. I chose the 7mm-08 for what you state. The versatility is great with the 7mm-08.

A Forever Caliber for my Daughter

I just bought my wife another Camilla. The first was a Mark V in 6.5 CM. Due to MS, my wife needs a light gun to carry and can't handle much recoil, so the 6.5CM was a great choice. I've been considering a 7mm-08 for awhile for her and hand down to grandkids. I recently bought myself a Weatherby...

    Zeiss Conquest V6 3-18 x 50 Feedback

I have 3 of these V6s. I am a Zeiss guy and of my stable of Zeiss scopes, the 3-18×50 are my pick. I have branched out to a March and a Swarovski Z5 recently. The March is 1.5-15 and I went there to see the how the lower end worked for us in our deep forest hunting with occassional opportunity...

Help me find a short LOP stock (or chassis) for my wife

My wife's favorite gun now, Camilla. We went with Mark V, synthetic, in 6.5cm. She needed a very light, low recoil gun. Shoots great. Of course a light barrel, so not a range gun. I handed her my 6.5cm Tikka the other day and she thinks the Tikka is heavy. Well compared to her Camilla, yep, not...

Preferred bullet weight for 6.5 CM

I hunt deer with 124 hammer hunters with Hornady Superformance. I've shot Berger 156s accurately, but a bit slow. I am satisfied the 124s work well in my Tikka and my wife's Weatherby to stick with the hammers.

    264 bullets

She is one of the bravest people I know. Deals with pain every day but is still ready to challenge herself. Thanks for the thoughts.

    264 bullets

It is great when your partner wants to hunt. We get a lot of quality time together away from all distractions. Good luck with the build.

    264 bullets

My wife is recoil sensitive due to M.S. and shoots a 6.5 CM Weatherby Camilla with their radial brake. I load 124g Hammers. She loves the gun and has no issues with its recoil. I just got a 6.5 PRC that I put on a muzzlebrake. I haven't shot it enough to decide if I will have her try it...

6.5 PRC Lapua Brass In Stock

I left a seller's review. Bottomline, I wasn't sure if he was legit with no seller reviews. He is an official LRH Sponsor, so took the risk. Very pleased with the transaction and would not hesitate to buy again. Thanks!

Help me find a short LOP stock (or chassis) for my wife

Thats what I thought when looking fo a stock to put a Sako L579 into - get a Boyd's AT1. My opinion, my AT1 is too heavy to hunt. No way would my wife carry it. So it is a 6mm range gun for us. More opportunity to get behind the trigger.

Help me find a short LOP stock (or chassis) for my wife

I am another vote for a Camilla. My wife loves hers. She needed a lightweight, short lop, low recoil, and good cheek weld. I bought her a Mark V in 6.5cm. If you want a 0.284 projectile and stay away from weatherby cartridges, it comes in a 280ai.

Hammer bullets picked up by Weatherby !!!

Congrats guys! All the hammers I've tried worked above my expectations on the ease of tuning in a sweet spot. Placed another order last night. My wife loves her Weatherby Camilla Mark V. I am just not into the Weatherby cartridges due to the exclusiveness of ammo.
