    Cabelas Alaska hunter boots

I did a pile of research to replace my worn out mtn boots and tried the Kenetrek, but they did not fit my foot - too narrow here, to wide there. For the premium price, they also lack a true Goretex Liner and Vibram soles, both key features that the Meindl Alaska Hunters have, for less $$. But...

    Struggling with my 300 RUM

93-93.8 gr RL25 and Fed 215M under 180 Accubonds has been very, very good in both my 300 RUM Sendero and SPS.

if you could only have 1 gun

308 Winchester M70 or M700 or M98, 24" barrel with detachable magazine. I do not see much I could not hunt in the world with this rifle and the right bullet.

338 Lapua - case expansion and sticky bolt ?

I am confident in the accuracy of my neasurements - I geared up with all the right tools to try and figure this problem out. Plus, the brass is not showing the ring that would suggest a headspace problem. The reamer specs show the neck diameter at the throat to be .373" - whether that is...

338 Lapua - case expansion and sticky bolt ?

I had a custom 338 Lapua built in 2009. I am having ongoing problems with sticky bolt and difficult extraction, even with mellow loads of 87.0 grains of RL 25 and 87.8 H1000 under 300 SMKs (seated -0.040" from lands) that go around 2700 fps out of my 28.5" barrel. From my research, this is by no...

    Cooper 6.5x.284????

The Cooper 6.5-284 has a 1:9 twist which may be too slow for 130 and 140 VLD bullets. Berger recommends 1:8.

    338 1:10 twist

I asked Eric Stecker himself about this on another forum. Q: Any indications what the suitable twist rate will be for the .338's ? A: Bryan [Litz] designed all the 338 cal bullets to be stable in the more common 10" twist. Regards, Eric

    My New Toy

That laminated stock is a very comfortable and looks good IMO, and it should be very stable. I would definitely wring it out before considering a swap.

2 guns 2 calibers. Need some advice

If I was to have only 2, it would be a .308 Win and 300 RUM (although my 338 Lapua also makes alot of sense). The gun I shoot long range with the most, by far, is my Rem700 .308. I have it bedded into B&C Light tactical, and shooting out to 700 yards is pretty easy. Today, I would pick up a...

Which scope for a 7mm mag and Aoudad

I hunted free range Aoudad this past fall and took a beauty 31" ram. We certainly hiked a fair bit, so having a 'handy' rifle was a consideration. I used a 300 Win Mag A-bolt with a Leupie 3-9x40 (guides rifle) to make a reasonable 350 yard cross canyon shot. The terrain they live in provides...
