I have a Hells Canyon LR McMillan off the shelf that is a nice accurate shooter (sub MOA at 400 yds). Recoil is actually less than my Tikka T3X CTR in 6.5 (before I swapped the stock), I think my next rifle will be a 28 Nosler just because.

So how do you select a starting load with a bullet and powder when there isn't a book to refer to? For example, I have some 181gr Hammer Hunter bullets I want to try a load workup on... do I just pick a bullet roughly the same weight and then reference a reloading manual (i.e. Nosler or Berger...

Was it just south of Van Horn by chance? I was on an Aoudad hunt about 20 miles S. of Van Horn and hit one just at dark and it limped off and dropped over the ridge before I could get another shot on it. We searched all the next day and couldn't locate it (or any blood either). A nice 32" ram.

My issue is with reloads... commercial rounds feed fine from the magazine but the shoulder on my reloads is what is binding. They chamber fine and no issues with extraction/firing, etc. Only issue I've had is the subsequent rounds coming up out of the magazine. I really enjoy shooting it (300...

I haven't messed with it. Was hoping to see what others have done but after reading through this thread, I will break out the dremel and get at it. I don't think it will take much to get it working. Did he do the inner portion and outer edge or just one or the other?

check out Panhandle Precision... Sam has a series of reloading videos that are very good and he explains how to setup the RCBS bushing dies, etc. He walks you through the entire process for both unfired (new) and fired brass. Well worth watching.

I use the 190gr Berger HVLD in my .300 Win Mag. It's not a WSM but very accurate bullet. I didn't have luck with the Nosler 190gr ABLRs.

I shoot the same rifle... the only bullet that seems to work for mine is the Berger 190 gr HVLD with H4381SC powder... the H1000 didn't work for me nor did the heavier bullets.
