Thanks for the info, I currently shoot H4831 but my gun likes a light load and I'm hoping by switching to the slower powder I can increase case capacity and gain a few 100 more FPS.

I was wondering if anyone has a starting point for a load development using retumbo in a 300 WSM, I shoot a 190 grain bullet. I can't find one and would love to try one out. Thanks in Advance. Josh

Everything with the 270WSM has been pass through. I've shot deer from 70 yards to 496 and had zero fragmentation signs. I have recovered one bullet from a Mountain Goat I shot at 1000 yards though with my 300 WSM (190 LRAB). It was a pass through but knotted up in the hair.

here are two loads I worked up using the Nosler book's COAL, I shoot the LRAB 150. Everything I've shot with it has been DRT. So far my farthest shot with this particular gun has been 496.

190grain Nosler ABLR. I have used the factory Made ammo to take Mountain Goats out to 1000 yards and my own reloads out to 523 yards on Mountain Goats. One moose at 325 yards. All of these animals are tough and the performance of the bullet was exceptional.

I took a Savage 300 WSM and got it to shoot .5 MOA. I had the barrel re-crowned to 11 degrees, laminate stock was added with Pillars and the action is bedded. I also reload my own ammo for my rifles. in all I have another $400.00 into the rifle, as far as the trigger goes it is the factory one...
