I've had great success finding hard to find ammo on gunbroker. If you are patient you can find some great deals. I recently bought 2 boxes of 300 wby mag 180gr TTSX for $105 ($52.50 per box) total plus $15 shipping. Also a box of 300 wby mag 180gr interlock for $39 shipped.

You certainly have my sympathies. And the libs wonder why there has been a mass exodus from these socialist wannabe states.

The few gun shows i have been to this year have had vendors with pricing above retail. Literally charging 1.5x more for ammo than I can go buy it for at academy currently.

I've had really good success on elk with both my 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Wby mag. But the 300 definitely anchored a bull better than my 7mm at apx the same distance and bullet placement. The 300 absolutely wrecked both shoulders and passed through. The 7mm did much less damage and the bullet...

I've had very good success with the 240 XTPs from Underwood out of my 629. I've seen excellent penetration and expansion on hogs and deer.

It get really intense if you are hunting them with dogs. Lots of actions and it will definitely challenge your shooting ability. The smaller hogs especially can really bob and weave with a couple dogs on their tail LOL.

Here in Alabama I generally go with 2 different extremes, AR15 or my Marlin 45/70 guide gun. In some of the large pastures where we have bait stations you are very likely to get several shots off so the ar15 works great. In some of the smaller less open areas I like to hit them with something...
