    Fellas, this one kinda hurt.

Ouch! Could have been worse - could have been the 25-06 one (genuine .5 MOA rifle) a mate of mine was forced to sell and I couldn't but because I had a 257 Weatherby (which I will never sell) and here in the UK it is very hard to have 2 hunting rifles in the same calibre... I still have bad...

new barrel. have you ever seen this

When i have a gun that sat in the safe for a while without being shot I feel like I have let it down. Its a nightmare when you get a few and you love them. My 7mmRM gets the least action because i have 257 sand 300wbys I love shooting. You've made me realise that 7 needs a trip out real soon.

Rule of Thumb for Shooting Down Hill

The best way to gain 'experience' of this effect is with an air rifle. With an air rifle (with a legal UK limit of 12 ft/lbs) a 50 yard shot is a long one with a lot of drop. Take that same shot up into the trees and the amount of drop reduces drastically. You learn quickly to compensate when...

    Bino Case opinions?

i also use the vortex harness - (Leica's inside though!) and you ca add little pouches to the straps for range finder, bits and pieces as necessary. As note I wear mine every day when walking my dogs so it gets a lot of use and it has lasted me really well.

    Explain This Please

First watch on the video and I thought you hit him high, but on the still it looks like a solid hit and in that no mans land. I have known a few people have this occur. I think the shot is a might too far back, but 2 inches down and you would be eating that prong horn.

    Explain This Please

If I am seeing the clip correctly (and the freeze frame is useful) Agree. I agree. I know of a few hunters who have had this happen.

    My sons latest Kansas bruiser

OK son, you shot it. You better get on with getting it back to the truck... Well done young man.

    Recoil management-poor shooting

Along with the suggestions above regarding bullet weight etc. Why not use a brake / moderator (if legal where you are) to sight in? Shoot to get your groups / zero with the brake . mod which substantially reduce felt recoil and then remove for the hunt? You can test to see if it has same POI...

    25-06 vs 257 wby

I cannot really answer this. I think the 25-06 is great cartridge and know people who swear by it. But I am SO biased. I love my .257 Roy. Mark 5 action, 27 inch tube, macmillan stock. I point it at things and they quickly fall over. This has happened many, many hundreds of times, over many...

Which of your guns are really most important?

How can a slug take them off their feet if they are wearing bodyarmour? If that was the case it would take the firer off their feet too (every action has an equal and opposite reaction and all that). Not arguing about it being potent though.

What’s your five? 5 Calibers to do it all...

22RF (small game, plinking, zombies) 243 (ultra boring, but it has good flexibility) 257 wby (It just makes me smile) 300 wby (others are faster now, but it does all you need until..) 375 H&H (the grand daddy of the magnum cartridges, respected by PHs, big enough for authority, usable on deer...

What is better than the Weatherby?

I shoot a 300 wby and a 7mm rem mag amongst others. Love them both. I agree with your comments above, the &'s are easier to shoot, but I do great a big smile when my 300Wby booms and that plate reacts like someone has hit it with a bus!

What is better than the Weatherby?

Well, I just had to weigh in. Firstly I kind of agree with the post that the big &'s can do the job better in some regards. Isnt that always the case? what i love about the 300 wby though is a. Its fun. I love shooting mine. b. Its reliable - it gets the job done. c. With the right bullets...
