I agree with you. I have only been reloading for hunting for less then 1.5 decades. I don't obsess. I don't have time to. I just want a load that will put down a deer at 200-300 yards. And soon an elk!
My 7mmPRC Lee precision size g die is set fine. Sized four or five dozen factory ammo once shot no problem. Try the new factory brass from Hornady and had problems. Throwing all the cases out.
Bought new factory brass for my 7mm PRC. Crap. Sticks, even with lube whereas the factory ammo, shot once did not. 7th case got stuck and ripped out of the shell holder. Now die is useless. First time trying this brass. Never again.
I was just resizing 7mm PRC factory brass and it got stuck in the Lee precision die on the 7th round and broke free from the shell holder. The other six were tight as well (gave squeaks when pulling out). Yes, I lubricated each case. Factory ammo from Hornady and Federal that was shot one were fine.
