One thing I've notice about those shorter barrels..and please correct me if I'm off...but I swear they shoot straighter and ste more acuaccur....sure you give up couple hundred for but accuracy is always king....I guess I'm to the point where I don't even for any magnum or even long action...

I have a Ruger compact m77 SS....it's a month full.....but its a 260 rem and I couldn't imagine a better deer especially whitetail gun and cartridge....16.5" barrel laminate stock.vx3 on top simple and strong. Plus the 260 could be the most underrated cart.out there. I wouldn't hesitate to use...

Ok yes I meant do they shorten a 308 case to wildcat it....or what I'm wondering is what was use originally....seems like a good shooting cart
