Where would you Go & Why ?

Idaho. I think its pretty easy to get OTC tags for elk and deer. I also think you can take a wolf off your deer tag. Pick a wilderness area and get to work. Someone from Idaho could correct me though, that's just what I think I remember from working there as a guide.

tikka T3 superlite vs. T3 lite

I forgot to mention that with the rifle being so light, it did take some re-emphasis on accurate shooting fundamentals to obtain the best accuracy. It took a minute to get used to it.

tikka T3 superlite vs. T3 lite

I had a T3 superlite. I regret that I sold it. It really was a perfect backpacking rifle. Mine was in .308 and out of the box shot under MOA. I ended up putting a Bell and Carlson stock on it, which did add a little weight, but it looked and felt a lot better. I think it also improved...

    Mule Deer Specialists...

I don't have any experience with that particular outfitter. But, having lived and hunted there I can tell you that is an excellent area that produces huge mulies. You may already know that. That town pretty much exists because of coal and hunting. I know that doesn't help you much as far as...

    Dog Pack

I say go for it. I had Ruffwear packs for each of my two dogs most of their lives. They worked great and I recommend them. It makes it so you don't have to carry anything for them, so you might as well bring them. My dogs were a 110 lb. lab and a 75 lb. German Shorthair. Both very well...

    My new 6.5 Creedmoor

Thanks for the post. I've been considering that setup for a while. What magazine system are you running on that? From the Savage product literature they say it has a 4 round capacity. Are you running any other mods? Thanks again for the vid. Nicely done on the competition with so little time.

Rings for my Super Sniper 3-9x42?

I highly recommend TPS rings. I've got a SWFA 10x, great scope, and that's what I use and they are very solid rings. Doesn't mean there aren't other good ones out there. They also come in aluminum or steel. In my opinion some of the best rings you can get for the money. I got mine here at...

30-06 vs 300 WSM vs 300 Win Mag look at these numbers

If the OP is intent on using just 180s then sure, go ahead and just build and 06. Probably will get more barrel life and recoil less. But in my opinion to limit oneself to 180 grain bullets across the entire .30 cal spectrum is a huge waste of potential for the more powerful chamberings. What...

    Kuiu gear

The founder of Kuiu started Sitka and grew the company to large success and then sold it to Gore Inc. I have quite a bit of Kuiu gear and it is top notch. I wouldn't replace any of it with any other company's gear, not to say there isn't other good stuff out there. Their product development...

    2013 KUIU ICON Reviews??

I have the new Icon 5200 in Verde camo. I've had it for 2 or 3 months and I really like it. I'm quite impressed with it and it is readily noticeable that it is a high end pack. I researched high end packs for a long time and I'm happy with the Kuiu pack. Not to say the other packs aren't...

    Best rangefinder for the money

If you feel like you're in a hurry to get something, eurooptic.com has Leica CRF 1000 on sale right now for 469, down from 599, to make room for the new CRF 100 R. I would agree that it could be a good idea and wait until you've got the funds for the 1600B, but in the 400-500 dollar price...

    SWFA SS 10x42 & Weaver 4-20x50 Tactical

I have the SWFA 10x on my 700 5R, and I have been impressed with it. Especially for the price. It is clear and tough and the turrets track accurately. Mine is the mil/mil setup and I like it. Can't give you any input on the Weaver since I've never used one.
