The XR is actually ours and we will be installing them in S&B's as that's the only scope we are working on. A handful of Leupolds got them up until early '06.

Re: A-MAX - 1 ... chuck - 0. Used the new Krylon fusion, I think it adheres better to plastics and is a little tougher and more durable. Colors were khaki and OD green.

If cost is not an issue, I would highly recommend the S&B 5-25x56 with either a P4fine or a Gen. II XR (the XR's are coming real soon). It will also be available for the 4-16's . Here's a picture of the Gen. II XR in a Mk4 6.5-20 on about 18x. An illuminated version will also be offered.

My longest confirmed is on a fox at 266 yd. One shot through the neck (front shoulder was aiming point) with a complete pass through. Dead on the spot. Bullet was a factory Hornady 17gr V-Max. I am repeatedly amazed with this little wonder.

Recently broke my new rifle in with it's first confirmed using a 52gr A-MAX in 223 at 242yd.

I would highly recommend the Ruger 77VT in 25-06. It is one of the most accurate factory rifles I've ever seen right out of the box. I'm shooting mine to 1,000 yd with a 115 gr VLD with outstanding accuracy.

I have also used the BT's and liked them, then I tried the 115 VLD's and I've shot nothing else since and probably won't. Pushing them from a 26" 25-06 at 3200fps, 1/2moa or better if I try hard enough. Devastating on varmints and critters, I got a groundhog today after work at 426 yd with this...

Thanks all, I've started with Benchmark, 25.8gr gave me the best velocity and accuracy with the lowest velocity spread using a 52gr A-MAX. Velocity with a 20" bbl is 3285fps and I'm cutting 1/4" groups at 100 yd. Not bad for a start, however, I do plan to try some 748 but I'm curious to see how...
