Happy Veterans Day brothers and Sisters!

Amen! And a huge thank you to the Veteran's family. They endure a tremendous burden and make it possible for the Veteran to serve!

No Serial Number Can I Sell

I inherited an old 30-40 Krag a while back. It had an old scope mounted that covered up the left side of the receiver and prevented the bolt from being removed. As part of dismantling, inspecting, and cleaning the rifle, I took a couple of pics that might help you find the serial number.

    Identify this round!

    I agree, looks like 30-06.

    Carbon Cleaner Test Picture Heavy

Thank you for posting and including all the pictures! I think the test you did was scientific enough for this forum and is certainly enough for me. I will be purchasing some Montana and the Hoppes Foam based on your results.

    Weatherby Mark V .300 weatherby

I have a Weatherby Mark V in .300 WBY MAG that shoots sub-moa. Like others have stated, out of the box the rifle kicks like a mule. For years, I would shoot it just enough to ensure it was still zeroed and then hunt with it (less than 5 rounds a year). About 3 years ago I put a muzzle brake on...

Kid shooting with bi focal glasses help

I think a red dot sight would be perfect, plus you are using .22's so the range will be fine.

Spreadsheet to compare rifle scope weights for lightweight build

This is a great list and reflects a lot of work! Thank you for sharing. I have a very old pair of what I think is now the Swarovski CL Pocket binos 10x. The listed weight on the new ones are 12.3 oz. Hands down, my compact pair have been on four deployments with me (really hard use), in...

    Too much camo?

I used an x-acto knife and cut templates out of a 12 pack Coke carton. I probably used 3 cartons total for each pattern. I also cut out patterns on lots of blue painters tape that I moved around during the painting. Here are several pictures from the project during the actual painting. Overall...

    Too much camo?

Definitely don't skimp on your clear coat. I haven't used some of the ones mentioned above, but I did try a couple of different camo patterns on hard plastic cases several years ago for a proof of concept. In both instances, I used a clear coat spray paint (I don't recall the brand but it was...

    Need some guidance..

For a muzzle brake, I mounted a Precision Armament M4-72 Severe Duty Compensator on my 300 Weatherby Magnum and it reduced the recoil considerably and it does not kick up dust. It is very loud though if someone is beside it when you shoot. I whole-heartedly recommend this muzzle brake.

Scope Recommendations for ELR - both hunting and range applications

I would strongly recommend that you take a look at the Swarovski Z8i series. I had the opportunity to play with one a couple of weeks ago and was stunned at the glass and features. On top of that, it was light for that kind of glass.

    Colorado Wilderness 6x6 Bull Elk

Super impressive hunt with a happy ending! As many others have already commented, you have accomplished something that a very small fraction of the hunting population could ever do. Congratulations!
