Tater is gettin a new gun

Well after having my son, Tater, pattern the old 20 guage sportsman 48 that I was going to have him use for the St. Jude's hunting for a cure youth turkey hunt, I decided he needed some thing that would put more than 1 pellet in the kill zone at 30 yards. So I went and talked to the management...

    Idaho Elk Hunting???

I would like to add a question to this post. How is the hunting around Stanley and Challis? I may have the opportunity to go there this year, and don't know whether to go for Elk or Mule deer. I am on a limited budget and don't know if I can afford both tags. What is your opinion? Thanks

New #1 Ruger Stainless varminter in 204 Ruger

I just spoke with Ruger customer service, and they said the technique to use, is to tilt the gun slightly when you eject the bullet. Since I love the gun, I guess I can live with this, but it would sure be nice to just drop the block and leter rip! JDMAG

New #1 Ruger Stainless varminter in 204 Ruger

Mine won't go to safety position unless it's cocked. which after you've shot, it aint. If I'm just ejecting an unused round, it throws it completely clear of the gun.

New #1 Ruger Stainless varminter in 204 Ruger

I just picked up a new #1 in 7mm Mag. Waitin on a scope, and I'll do some sighting in this week. If you eject an empty(or snap cap) does it hit the safety lever on yours? it does on mine, and bounces back toward the breech. I was told I could adjust the ejector spring and alleviate this problem...

    Recommend a tent ?

Thanks! Right now it's just for me and my son, And he probably wont be with me as mush as I like. But you think(for the price) it would be OK for 2 or less? only being used once or twice a year, on elk hunt, and only lightly in Tennessee for normal camping in spring and summer? JD

    advice on 1st hunt

+1 to every thing Guy said. Even so, There is NOTHING you can do to get your lungs ready for breathing at that altitude short of moving out there 6 months in advance of your hunt, or a plastic bag over your head while working out on an elliptical. However plenty of leg work (both walking and...

    SOLD/EXPIRED Dogtra 2002 T&B

I am down to 1 dog now and don't have a use for a 2 dog system . I am willing to let this set of collars go for $400.00. It has only been used about 4 times as I was injured shortly after acquiring a second bird dog, and since I was unable to spend the time required to train a new pup, I let a...

    Howdy!

Howdy! I'm new here, and just want to learn a little about long range shooting for hunting, for myself, and to teach my kids. I'm not a bench rest shooter, but I do reload. I will be asking about the 7MAG and 300 win MAG. Just huntin guns and Joe the plumber scopes. Thanks, JDMAG
