    New Optic source

I have always heard that to a Russian "more is better". In other words "10 OK jets are better than 5 really good ones. All I cna think of is a story I heard about a MIG pilto who defected to the USA after visiting Cuba. He was asked about the capabilities of his jet and specifically its ability...

I have to agree with MagMan it's hard to beat a "full" 12 month warranty and 15 day "money back" guarantee. Are you guys nuts? The WORST scope maker out there will give you better than a 12 month warranty. I would alos wager you would NEVER have a warranty issue resolved.

Ultra highend optics: Schmidt Bender vs. others and some perspective

Re: Ultra highend optics: Schmidt Bender vs. others and some perspecti Pete, I was not attacking you in any way. I am not familiar with what you pay. All I know is the are few retailers in the the USA that could make a living at 20% gross margins. Neuf

Ultra highend optics: Schmidt Bender vs. others and some perspective

Re: Ultra highend optics: Schmidt Bender vs. others and some perspecti I don't buy some of what I have read in here on this topic. First, I have serious trouble buying that scopes are only marked up 20%. NO WAY. If that were the case how would you turn the lights on? Thinka about it, for evry...

    Did some rockchuck hunting today

That's good shooting. I don't often read or hear about 1/10- 1/5 MOA groups.

    Did some rockchuck hunting today

How does one shoot and measure a .1" group with bullets that are .224 or .1225 from center? A .1" group would pretty much look like a single 30 caliber hole.

    Sighting In a Leupold

Cowboy Amazing! You can hit running game out to 400-500 yds when your bullet is dropping aywhere from 1.5' to over 3' at 500 yds all with a 4 power scope. Personally, I could barely even see a coyote at 400 yards with a 4 power scope. A 400 yard shot at a coyote with a 4 power scope is like a...

    Sighting In a Leupold

I have NO doubt that MANY coyotes have benn shot running at 350 yds. It was the "dead meat most of the time" that got me.

    Sighting In a Leupold

das I would go to www.shortmags.org and look on the downlads page. There is a program called "point blank" and it's great to use. You can go to the website of the maker of the ammo you're using and get BASIC ballistics. Most will give you the bullet weight and velocities at the muzzle and at...

What scope for the hard kickers?

There is a whole page on scope recommendations at http://www.shortmags.org/shortmags/. They go into great detail on eye relief. The recommended scopes are not cheap but they do offer the needed eye relief for magnum calibers.

    Sighting In a Leupold

I want to see that "dead meat" 350 yard shot at a running coyote. If you can do that with regularity this is little you can learn from the rest of us mere mortals.

    Sighting In a Leupold

Well the first step is to examine your load and then see what the bullet is doing at the various yardages. Next you sight in at, say 100 yards and then, from your ballistic info, you make the elevation adjustments to your scope. For example, if you determine based on your load, that when you...
