Yes, my stw loves the 160gr Accubonds, but I can never find them. I run them around 3250fps just like the factory nosler ammo. I assume you mean that they shoot well and do NOT key hole.

I agree with your assessment of H1000. It's not 2006 anymore, there are far better powders that are slower and better suited for the big boys.

Yeah, for me the three small set screws on the elevation turret come loose so that the turret spins freely. I need to get some of that Vibra-TITE VC-3 to try out because I am scared to over-tighten and strip those small Allen scews.

That's verbatim what I was going to say. Jon, if you've seen my STW, we probably have very similar setups, and my EPL4 turrets come loose once in a while.

Quick update on the 101gr Hammer Hunters. I had to move 6 clicks left for them to hit paper, so only 4 shots are present. Definitely not bad, but my spring break is over and I will revisit it in July. Cheers.

If you want to go the money-saving route, well there is none. But, you could buy a brand new Remington 700 7mm rem mag with a 1-8 twist barrel and rent a chamber reamer. With no other upgrades, you'll have a barebones 7mm STW for just under $700-$800.

The problem I see nowadays is that most reloading manuals for the big 7s (STW & RUM) list moderate and conservative loads. If I am going to shoot my 7mm RUM, I am going to maximize my velocity while staying around that 62-63k psi range. Just a thought.

My 7mm STW 26" 1-8 launches 160gr Nosler Accubonds at 3300 and 160gr Shock Hammers at 3350. Both using H1000.
