    6.5 Creedmoor and others...

Update. I bought a Savage weather warrior, 6.5 Creedmoor. I slapped my Kahles Helia CL 4-12X52 on it. I did the break in with 129 gr, and 140 gr Hornady ammunition. I was seeking a reduction in recoil and I got it, to the tune of nearly 50%. I'm delighted with the round so far...

SOLD/EXPIRED PRICE REDUCED - Custom Built Savage in 6.5 Creedmoor

What does the rifle weigh and what is the overall length. I've been pounded by magnums long enough and I'm looking for an accurate, light recoiling, long range hunter for open country. Thanks, Jack Goertz Bremerton, WA

Dale - if you don't mind telling me, what are paying for that. My wife is watching me agonize over the prospect of crappy triggers and no guarantee of the kind of accuracy I need. She suggest that I not preclude the Cooper. The door is open.

I would really like to see your results. For example, the bullet used, the range, where the critter was struck, and how well the cartridge performed.

Dale - I'm familiar with Coopers. They are exceptional rifles and an exceptional value. I hunt MT and several of the guys I hunt with shoot them. My brother also has a varminter in .17 cal. The price however, is the sticking point at home. So I think I'll have to find another way to...

    6.5 Creedmoor and others...

That appears to be a good option. I contacted Cabela's in Lacy WA to see if they could order an Icon. The rep explained that the T/C production facilities, lock stock and barrel, were hauled from NH to Mass during 2011. I can't imagine very many rifles being cranked out along the highway...

    6.5 Creedmoor and others...

I'm sick of being hammered by the magnums. The guys I hunt with keep ramping up, the latest addition is one guy's new 338-378 to be used for open country deer and pronghorn. The rationale is, he can really reach out there with that thing. For years I had been told that the 6.5X55SE was one...

    270 wsm

The Tikka came in at 6lb 6oz and it does knock me around some. Even with a Kahles 4-12X52 and a Harris bipod. I was looking for the added rigidity of a heavy barrel as well as the added weight. Every pound counts. I could buy one and get a heavy barrel replacement for the standard...

    270 wsm

I've been hunting with a Tikki T3 Lite for several years. I'm shooting a 270 wsm cartridge and I'm pretty happy with it. The open country I hunt may involve some long shots. The rifle is reasonably accurate but everything I've read suggests that Savage is substantially more accurate at long...
