My Savage liked the action screws to be a quarter turn past snug. I do not have a torque wrench yet. The Savage accutrigger mods were simple for me after researching it on line.

Shot in the dark here but could the scope have shims installed for a zero stop?? I know that the Vortex system for zero stop requires shimming the turrets to get them to return to zero. I wonder if yours is shimmed to the point that you cannot get to your "zero". Just an idea. I am currently...
