    Tikka T3X Lite Compact 223

This rifle is stamped 223 on the barrel and I've tried researching as to whether it is safe to fire 5.56 in it. Nothing that I can find tells me if it will handle the 5.56. The owner's manual is not caliber specific so that doesn't help. There are differences of opinion from various online...

    129gr Interlock, 6.5 Creedmoor load

Thanks guys. I got to shoot it out to 400 today. Pretty happy with them. According to the Strelok app the speed is accurate at 400 too. I have about 3/4 lb of RL16 but saving it for another rifle and I missed out on the RL16 at Brownells a while backalso. I do have some new LRP brass squirreled...

    129gr Interlock, 6.5 Creedmoor load

I took y'all's advise and increased the charge . Beginning at 42.6 gr. and increasing by .3 gr up to 43.8 gr. Pressure was still ok at 43.8 gr but I backed it down to 43.6 grs and shot a 5 shot group. It looked pretty good so I stopped there. Thanks for the help. 73°, 11 mph SW wind, 2760 fps...

    129gr Interlock, 6.5 Creedmoor load

Thanks. I usually start all my loads .020” off from touching the lands and adjust OAL from there. The Starline brass has been fired 3-4 times, trimmed as needed, shoulders bumped .002-.003” with a Redding body die, neck sized with a Lee Collet die and annealed at least once. I’ll try increasing...

    129gr Interlock, 6.5 Creedmoor load

I have not seen any signs of high pressure at that charge weight however the primers were starting to crater a little but still have rounded edges. I know that cratering is not a 100% indication of high pressure.

    129gr Interlock, 6.5 Creedmoor load

Thanks. I have RL16, Staball and Superformance in the cabinet. In your opinion, any one of those more accurate than the other? edit- I just tried a near max load of Varget and Hunter. Both had less velocity than H4350.

    129gr Interlock, 6.5 Creedmoor load

Loaded up some 129 Hornady Interlocks yesterday for my Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor. While I'm very happy with the 3 shot group, I'd like to have a little more velocity out of it. I'm loading fired Starline SRP brass, just under Hornady max at 42.3gr. H4350, cci450 primers and .020"...

    Hello from NC

It was pouring rain when I first got up so I waited until the rain slacked off, about 10am. They were still shooting when I got there but everything and most everybody was drenched and muddy. Talking to some of the guys that said shooting was tough due to all the wind and rain. I had not planned...

    Hello from NC

Did you go to the Bulls Eye Annual Groundhog shoot near South Mountain last Saturday? I went and watched, just to see what the procedures were since I’ve never competed using a rifle.

I deer hunted in Pender Co., Burgaw area, with dogs in the 80s. Had a lot of fun back then.

    Hello from NC

Thanks for all the well wishes. I‘m located in Cleveland County and can see the South Mountains from the back steps. I’m also lucky enough that I can shoot everyday and out to 500 yards on my property, provided that my cows aren’t around.

    Hello from NC

An old guy but a new member here and first post. I’ve been trying to extend the range of my shooting and have been steered here to this sight several times while doing online searches for longer range shooting tips and loads. Good site with lots of good info.
